December 2025 - Year-End Reflection

As we close out 2025, we're reflecting on a year of growth, challenges, and incredible partnerships. We've expanded our team, completed projects across multiple states, and continued to build the kind of relationships that make this work meaningful. Thank you for being part of our community—whether you're a client, partner, or someone following along. Here's a look at what we've been working on and what's ahead!

VASA Fitness Matteson - Project Complete

We're excited to share that the VASA Fitness project in Matteson, IL is complete and open. This project required precise coordination, attention to detail, and a team effort to bring it across the finish line on schedule.

From site prep to final finishes, our team worked closely with VASA Fitness to deliver a facility that meets their standards and serves the Matteson community. We're proud of the work our team put into this one.

We have several other projects wrapping up at the end of this year and into early 2026, and we're looking forward to sharing those completions soon!

Growing the Pro Commercial Team

2025 has been a year of significant growth for Pro Commercial. We've added talented team members across project management, field operations, and leadership to support our expanding project portfolio and geographic reach.

Our team manages projects in hospitality, retail, and senior care with the same hands-on approach and commitment to quality that's defined Pro Commercial for over 40 years. As we head into 2026, we're continuing to build a team that reflects our values: partnership, integrity, and excellence in execution.

We're grateful for the people who make this work possible and excited about what this team will accomplish in the year ahead.

As we look ahead to 2026, we're tracking several key trends shaping the commercial construction industry:

Construction Starts Are Expected to Increase
After several flat years, construction volume is projected to rebound as interest rates stabilize and federal funding flows into local markets. Dodge Construction Network's 2025–2026 Outlook projects a 7–10% increase in total U.S. construction starts by 2026, driven by manufacturing, infrastructure, and selective commercial sectors. For developers, this means more opportunity, but also more competition for quality contractors.

Backlog Is Near Record Highs
Contractors are filling their pipelines early, with the ABC Construction Backlog Indicator showing average backlog reaching 8.4 months in 2024 and forecasts edging toward 9–10 months entering 2026. Owners who secure construction teams sooner will avoid pricing and scheduling volatility as demand increases.

Material Prices Are Stabilizing—but Still 35–40% Above 2019 Levels
Construction material costs have plateaued, but Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows they remain nearly 38% higher than pre-COVID averages. Stability is here, but not a return to old pricing. Smart preconstruction planning and long-lead procurement are still essential to controlling costs.

Renovation & Adaptive Reuse Are Outpacing New Construction
Dodge reports that renovation work is growing four times faster than ground-up construction, particularly in retail, office conversions, and industrial reuse. Owners are capitalizing on existing structures to save cost and time while meeting sustainability goals, and contractors with experience in occupied spaces and complex renovations are in high demand.

At Pro Commercial, we're built for these trends. With 40 years of experience, projects across the United States, and expertise in design-build, value engineering, and occupied space construction, we know how to navigate complexity and deliver results.

Thank You to Our Clients & Partners

As we close out 2025, we want to say thank you. Thank you to our clients for trusting us with your projects. Thank you to our partners—architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers—for your collaboration and expertise. And thank you to everyone who's followed along, reached out, or supported Pro Commercial this year!

We don't take these relationships for granted. They're the foundation of everything we do, and we're grateful for each one.

Here's to finishing 2025 strong and building something great together in 2026.
